More people in Britain are living to over 100, thanks to better medical treatment and improved nutrition alongside higher overall living standards.
For the first time, there are now more pensioners than children, and that includes over 9,000 people aged 100 or more.
Part of this incredible achievement is down to making healthy lifestyle choices – even in middle age. This can mean not only that people live longer but, more importantly, that they stay healthy for longer and have a better of quality of life as they age. Looks like it’s never too late to start eating well and doing more exercise!
